Native apps
Meet the eight built-in endOS apps for files, writing, browsing, development, email, and system settings.
endOS includes eight built-in applications. The default dock keeps Files, Chrome, Terminal, Writer, and Settings close at hand. Open Viewer, EndCode, Mail, or any other installed app from Spotlight or the Apps launcher in the dock.
App catalog
| App | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Files | Browse your home folder, Team Drive, and Shared with me. You can upload and share files or create a channel from a selection. |
| Writer | Create and edit text files. Markdown and MDX files include rich editing and preview modes; Writer also opens configuration files such as mcp.json. |
| Viewer | Preview PDFs and common image formats without editing them in place. |
| Chrome | Use a full browser streamed from the desktop. Your agent can control Chrome through its browser tools. |
| Terminal | Open a shell in your container. Configure its appearance under Settings → Terminal. |
| EndCode | Work in a Monaco-based code editor with a file sidebar, workspace search, and an integrated Terminal. |
Use the inbox at {slug}@endstack.co to read threads, compose messages, reply, reply all, and forward. | |
| Settings | Manage system and agent preferences. |
The Apps launcher is an overlay rather than a windowed app. It opens the full app catalog from the dock.
Window support
Files, Writer, Viewer, Chrome, Terminal, and EndCode can each open multiple windows. Mail and Settings are single-window apps.
Work with apps through your agent
Your agent can discover apps and use the Apps & Windows tool group to open or focus windows, take screenshots, and close windows. Chrome and Terminal also provide dedicated tool or CLI surfaces. See Agent tools for the available controls.
